Perkara ini berkaitan seseorang yang bersetubuh dengan isterinya, ataupun keluar air mani tetapi belum mandi junub sehingga masuk waktu subuh iaitu waktu berpuasa. Ertinya ketika dia mandi wajib, waktu subuh telah masuk. Dalam hadis yang diriwayatkan oleh ‘Aishah dan Ummu Salamah bahawa Nabi s.a.w pada waktu pagi (subuh) dalam keadaan berjunub sedangkan baginda berpuasa. إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ جِمَاعٍ، غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ فِي رَمَضَانَ، ثُمَّ يَصُومُ “Bahawa Rasulullah s.a.w memasuki waktu subuh dalam keadaan berjunub disebabkan jimak, bukan kerana mimpi namun baginda tetap berpuasa” (Riwayat Muslim).
Maka, sesiapa yang terlewat mandi wajib sehingga masuk waktu subuh masih sah puasanya pada hari berkenaan.
